The lead singer of Queen and a resident of Montreux (apparently Shania Twain and Mutt Lange live around here too), he was certainly a very flamboyant performer whose music I really liked and I've always been intrigued by his life story. Ever since my parents took a tour through Europe and mentioned that this statue existed I've always wanted to see it.
He faces the lake with his butt to the pedestrians, probably the way he would have wanted it.
"So there I was last week, in the Swiss Alps..."

I saw a small picture in my Lonely Planet of this event, and thought "that would be cool." But almost
forgot about it, since what were the odds of it occuring during the three days I would be in Switzerland,
and at a location I could include? Well, at some point I remembered to do a quick Google search,
and stranger things have happended...
