Full Day Tiberias
"Enjoy a full day at leisure in Tiberias. Did Optional $76: Full Day
Golan Heights Tour with Lunch"

You can see the Sea of Galilee from my room

Soldiers on their annual trip of the country

We would visit a small synagogue and then have time to walk the one main street of this artist area

This shop person was photogenic, and also friendly and started talking to some of us.
After a few minutes, to say he was highly opinionated would be an understatement. For instance he is glad Obama won, because a complete collapse
will come more qucikly than it would have under Bush or Clinton, therefor allowing us to start all over again from scratch more quickly.
Probably read about him in Gauntanamo in a few years.

Kibbutz Gadot
Tour and lunch

Bunkers and trenches
Apparently for the first few decades they were under constant attack up here, to include the area being completely wiped out in 1953 and 1967, and bombed
every five minutes in 1973. Did I tell you they have a bed & breakfast here?

Annie has been a kibbutz member for almost 30 years and gave us a tour- small world,
she is from Austin and went to UT.
At lunch I got the hook up with some puree (mashed potatoes) from the member buffet.

There is an unexploded Syrian mortar round in this tree, but it is said to be safe...
The traditional kibbutz way of life is disappearing, with money being important to everyone. Testament that capitalism isn't all bad as some would fear-
as soon as they were issued stipends for food and had to pay for it- the amount of food consumed and wasted went down. Go figure...

There are still live land mines laid by the Syrians all over this place.

A memorial
Lots of opinions and emotions about whether to trade this back in return for the hope of peace

We'd stop at the Golan Heights Winery for a tour and tasting
The climate is so diverse that they can grow grapes for almost all types of wine here. Israel itself has crops of almost all types and is a top 10
exporter of food- very impressive.

In the foreground is a UN base, and further away is Syria, and if we were to look north there is Lebanon

Lots of spy gear on top of a hill

Passing by a small army base
