"Morning at leisure to enjoy the hotel spa facilities, a mud bath, or a relaxing float in the Dead Sea. Following your treatments, continue to
Masada, a significant monument from the First Jewish-Roman War. Arriving to Masada, ascend the mount via cable car to visit the excavations.
Descend via cable car and continue for a drive along the shores of the Dead Sea, and past Qumran where the
Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered.
Proceed to the Ahava Dead Sea Laboratories and observe first-hand how creams and lotions are made with minerals extracted from the Sea. Continue
through the Judean Desert to Jerusalem, with a brief stop on Mount Scopus to view the city."
Dead Sea
Almost 9x as salty as the ocean, and the lowest on land point on Earth
It was so salty, I heard more than one story of swim suits disintegrating.
Because Israel is in such a dire need of water, several bodies of water that would normally flow into the Dead Sea have been diverted. So as evaporation
continues, expect the Dead Sea to disappear some day...
We would stop for lunch at the Ein-Gedi Pundak Restaurant and Gift Shop- a cafeteria style place where I believe I got good chicken schnitzel, friendly
service.
We would then go to the Ahava factory store, where everyone thought the two soldiers below were really cute, and they where nice enough to pose for
pics with us. I got in the spirit of things and bought some sort of men's facial cleanser- yes, made of Dead Sea minerals.
We made a quick stop here to see an example of a river valley I believe.
Jerusalem
Just after sunset we stop for this overview of the city, then eat dinner at our hotel.
