Dave's Tokyo/Vietnam/Cambodia Trip- Tokyo Park Hyatt

Tokyo Park Hyatt

The service here does live up to billing- from pulling up, check-in, check-out, everything. Most of the staff seemed to be Japanese that went to college in the States.

I had originally booked one king bed, but when I mentioned my desire to stay in a room as close as possible to the movie's, my guy Masayoshi said the two double beds would be better. Upon seeing the room I was worried, because the beds were too close to get a picture. We went and looked at the king, but the windows were very different, and to get a room like the movie, a diplomat suite I think, would have been $200-300 more. So I stuck with the double with an awesome view, and almost hurt my back moving the bed around, but it had to be done!

Here, you can clearly see the all important fax machine
I didn't receive any : (

Very nice tub and seperate shower you don't really get to see here

Note the toilet is behind a seperate door

And you have a seperate LCD TV for the bathroom
Closet just when you walk out the bathroom entrance, on the left side

If I could redo the classic cover shot for the movie, I would:
Take the shot by tripod and use a long exposure- would have lightened the shot and also captured some of the scenery outside the window
Raised the camera about 6-12 inches for a higher angle
Shot from further away from the bed, though there really wasn't much more room
The room carpet is the wrong color
Put some magazines on the end table- though the table is slightly different regardless

And if I had a girl with me would have been great to get the opening, pink panty butt shot.

My bar shots using the flash were clear but didn't capture the essence of the place, so I included the no flash blurry ones below. Again, should have used my little mini-tripod which would have been unobtrusive but gotten a good shot. I have a feeling I will be back someday.

Room key
Pretty classy I think, but at the same time it reminds me of a girl's belly button ring. Apparently I believe it is from Tiffanys.
It wasn't available from the hotel, and if you "lost" it probably would have cost $300, but I guess I should have checked. So instead for a souvenier I took all the toiletries and kept a bottle of water that was branded by the hotel. Yeah, kind of trailer park, just don't tell anyone.
